Acupuncture effectively treated with patients with sciatica

A new study is just published about acupuncture is effective for sciatica. Thirty patients with sciatica, aged 35-70 years completed the study. The acupuncture treatment was given twice a week for 4 weeks. The visual analog scale (VAS) score was used to assess pain. For all patients, acupuncture achieved significant improvement in the VAS. Results of this pilot study indicate that acupuncture is safe and may effectively relieve symptoms and disability in patients with non-acute sciatica.
