The gluteal muscles pain, acupuncture can help

The gluteus maximus muscle is the strongest muscle in the body and covers a large part of the buttock. It connects the lower spine to the thigh. It extends the thigh and causes the leg to straighten at the hip when a person walks, runs, or climbs. It is also used to raise the body from a sitting position. It partly is on the top of the gluteus medius. Gluteus medius connects pelvic bone to the thigh. It rotates the hip medially. It is on the top of gluteal minimus. Gluteal minimus also connects pelvic bone to the thigh and rotates the hip medially.

Gluteal muscles injury is one of the causes of low back pain. The characteristic of the pain is dull pain, or soreness with tightness located mostly at one side of the buttocks or hips and it can radiates to the leg even to the foot. The pain can restrict the hip movement. The pain can cause muscle weakness whch will affect the hip joint, walking gait, pelvic tilt and stability, balance and posture. Acupuncture can help reduce gluteal muscle pain.
